Kathy Peillot – Lead Teacher – native French speaker

Kathy is from France and holds a Master’s in Anglo-American Studies and an undergraduate degree in English language and literature. Prior to her focus on language studies, she specialized in Biology. Kathy began subbing and working with us already last Spring. We were immediately impressed with her gentle and effective classroom management skills. While she is new to teaching this age group, she has extensive teaching language experience in English, French, and some German from elementary age children through undergraduate level. Since she and her husband have settled in the area, Kathy has been active in local volunteer organizations that support women and families as well Hispanic outreach programs. She has already completed the first component of the Montessori 3-6 Primary training program this summer. This comprises nearly ½ of the total coursework and she will finish her training throughout the year obtaining her AMS 3-6 Certification in June 2010.  Kathy speaks excellent English, conversational Spanish and basic German. Her interests outside of teaching are photography, yoga and social work.
